The first 21 years of my professional career were working in a family-owned business that was started by my grandfather in 1946. The company grew over the years, but we were also faced with several issues including the unexpected death of my father at a young age. The business was sold successfully to an outside buyer in 1999. ​

In October 1999, I joined Northwestern Mutual with the goal of sharing my experience as an owner of a closely-held family business to help other business owners address the issues my family faced. My passion remains focused on helping driven entrepreneurs, executives, and high-net-worth individuals to protect, promote and preserve™ the value they’ve worked so hard to create by delivering a “360-view” of their personal and business financials. It’s what we refer to as wealthcare.​
